The Yahoo! Sports blog, "The Dagger," recently caught up with former Northern Iowa basketball player and hero Ali Farokhmanesh in advance of Thursday's NCAA tournament first-round games.

Farokhmanesh is currently playing professional basketball in Switzerland. He's even had a few Swiss teammates come up to him complaining that he ruined their brackets.

For those of you unaware, Farokhmanesh hit a wide-open 3-pointer that helped sink top overall seed Kansas in the second round and ended up being one of the lasting images of last year's tournament.
